Los adjetivos

One of the biggest differences between English and Spanish is the order of the adjectives and nouns.

In English, you say “blue sky.” In Spanish, you say “sky blue” (cielo azul).

Adjectives agree in gender and number with the nouns to which they relate. Normally masculine adjectives end in an -o and feminine adjectives end in an -a.

Ejemplos:

an ugly dog = un perro feo
a beautiful woman = una mujer bonita

If a noun is plural then the adjective is also plural, an s is added to the end.

Ejemplos:

the handsome man = el hombre guapo
the handsome men = los hombres guapos

the attractive woman = la mujer atractiva
the attractive women = las mujeres atractivas
